The purpose of the Battle is to allow high-scoring, judge-selected routines from the competition to cheer each other on and compete head to head in a super-hyped environment for the pride of winning the Inferno Battle Cup. The battle is purely for fun and has no bearing on final awards results including Grand Champion Awards. Battle winners receive the Inferno Battle Cup.

Battle routines are not scored again. Top scoring routines will be eligible to be invited to the battle however depending upon the number of routines in a category and the breakdown of scores, not all high score winners are guaranteed participation in the battle. Any high score placing routines in a category may be invited to battle so long as the high score winner and any higher placing routines are invited.
